New Lasting Imprint Website

Well, it is finally ready. Our new website is now online at www.lastingimprint.com. It is a little bolder in color and texture, but is still quite simple an straight forward in its layout. I am still making some tweaks and needs to add a few things, but it is to the point where it is functional. This was an interesting project because it is completely set up with a Content Management System this time around, and I am looking forward to being able to more easily keep everything updated.

Now back to the paying projects.

Office Move

Well, we have just moved out of our downtown location at 4804 50 Ave. Red Deer, and are now operating as a virtual office. After a review of the past year and how the majority of all client communication is through email and phone, keeping the downtown location didn't seem to make sense anymore. So we are going to the virtual office model to give it a try. It will help keep our overhead lower, and hopefully more flexible for client projects. There are a couple of things that we are not going to offer anymore, and this is mostly centered around video. We won't be taking on any more video conversion projects, or doing any more wedding video production.

I only have 1 new website to post right now. Still a number of sites on the go, but the majority of work that we have been doing lately has been web maintenance and graphic design. When I get a chance I will post samples of the graphic design we have done.

Advance Mortgage
This is the latest site to go live for us. With the booming housing market, Advance Mortgage wanted a face lift on their website to better represent their image and what they offer. You can check out the new site at: www.advancemortgage.ca.

One exciting note is that by me next post (hopefully this week) we will be live with a new Lasting Imprint site. It is funny how you can so easily neglect your own site when you are focussed on so many others. We have a new look for 2007. It is simple, but very functional. A bit of the "less is more" concept. What is also exciting about the new site is that it is 100% content managed. This is an area that we are becoming very fluent in and have been adding Content Management Systems to the sites we are working on right now with terrific results. When I get a chance, I plan on putting together a CMS "Lasting Imprint Style" demonstration together, so look for that in the coming weeks. (hopefully :))

Where Did 2006 Go?

When people would say that time goes faster as you get older, I never really understood that. I am quickly finding that out now. It seems like the Fall just flew by, and I am wondering where it went. Even now, Christmas seems like it was just the other day, and we are already more than half way through January. Lots of projects to keep us busy right now, and I am finally getting around to posting about the ones that we have completed recently, so here goes.

ICIN 2007
The ICIN conference (Impact Cities, Influence Nations) is a national conference held every year at the Word of Life Centre. There are always a lot of world renowned speakers who attend, and we were fortunate enough to design the site for the conference this year. You can see the site at www.icin.ca.

Guys Only Conference 2007
This is also a conference at the Word of Life Centre in Red Deer. This year the men's conference is football themed with Joe Champion as the keynote speaker (an ex-NFL player) and it is being held on Super Bowl weekend with a Super Bowl party planned to close out the conference. The site for this conference can be found at www.guysonly.ca.

Simple Body Concepts
This is a site for a business that is just about to open its doors in Red Deer. It is a revolutionary system for getting in shape using special vibration based equipment. To learn more about this new company, you can check them out at www.simplebodyconepts.com.

Supreme Equipment
This is a heavy equipment company in Red Deer that we have set up a site for. It contains a simple but effective content managed catalog of all their equipment that is available. You can check them out at www.supremeequipment.ca.

Marlo Ruttan - Royal LePage Realtor
This website for local Realtor Marlo Ruttan turned out very well. It has a lot of great information if you are looking to buy or sell a home. He also has a great Personal Client Service for people who want to keep an eye on the market with automatic email notices on new properties or updates to existing ones. You can check him out at www.marloruttan.com.

So that is about it for now, we have a lot of sites that are on the verge of being completed right now, so there are going to be much more sites to list very soon.

Finally Taking the Time

Like I mentioned in the last post, this has been a very busy Fall season. With a lot of projects on the go, it has been very tough to keep up on the little things like our blog. We have three new websites up and running right now, with a few month close on their heals. We also finished up 9 videos for the Chamber of Commerce recently. We will get those rendered out and uploaded to the site in the near future.

The first site that is now live is Jaxville Gold and Silver Trading (www.jaxville.com). We have been working on this site with Jack for quite some time, and have finally got it up and running. Jaxville is a company that specializes in gold and silver trading in Red Deer, and it going to have some great articles on the subject on the new website shortly.

The next site that is now up and running is The Right Leader-The Right Time (www.rightleader2006.ca). This is a site that we put together on short notice for the Right Leader campaign which has been set up to encourage people to educate themselves on the Conservative Party candidates who are all vieing for Ralph Klein's position. This site won't be online following the election, but it came together very nicely and we are pleased with the results.

The last site to add to this list has literally just gone online. It is a website for Four Corners Vacations (www.fourcornersvacations.com). This is a site for a travel agent in the area who specializes in destinations in the South Pacific.

That's all for now, still trying to catch up on everything (including sleep) but it is a good problem to have.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

It has been a VERY busy Fall so far. We haven't posted anything in a while simply because we have been too busy working on projects. We have several new sites online, and a few more set to go live in the very near future.

The first one is for the Red Deer Curling Centre. We have put together a website for them, and it is now online at www.reddeercurling.ca.

The other completed project is for Anode Design. This is a new engineering company, and we a logo, as well as a simple 1 page website for them. This can be seen at www.anodedesign.com.

A large project that we have been working on for a little while now is finally up and running. We developed the company logo, business cards, and this new website for The Racing Den. This is a company that sells NASCAR racing accessories such as jackets and hats. You can check out their line of products at www.racingden.com.

Another large site which is online, but we are still developing some of the functionality on it such as a member's section and such. This site is for Safety Links out of Florida. Safety Links is a safety consulting company working primarily in the Central Florida area. The new site can be seen at www.safetylinks.net.

We've got some more exciting projects on the go right now, and will have a bunch of new video projects to showcase next time.

Finally Catching Up - New Websites Online

It has been a while since we posted an update to the blog. We have been busy finishing up a number of projects, and with the weather being so warm it has been tough to stay focused on a computer screen all day long.

But we have three new websites online now, and more to come. The first one is www.kiwiclean.ca. KiwiClean is a local carpet cleaning company that has been doing business for some time now in Alberta. We have been doing a lot of work for them over the past couple of months. Everything from a new website, to business cards, to flyers, to brochures, and even water bottle labels. This site is now live, and is already receiving good traffic.

The next site that is now online is for Janice Resch. Janice is a buyers agent for Century 21. We have given her website a completely new look, and it can be found at www.rdbuyersagent.com.

The last site that has recently gone live if for Polar Geomatics. They are a full service GIS company in Red Deer. Their new site can be found at www.polargeomatics.com.

That is it for right now. More website and other stuff in the works, and we will be posting it as soon as it is all done. Right now I am getting ready to shoot a few weddings in the month of August.
